Robyn Cassimere - P.E.
I am entering my 16th year of Physical Education in LAUSD. In addition to teaching PE, once again this year I will teach the Leadership class. We had so much fun last year. We plan on bringing more to our Katherine Johnson student body this year. I look forward to giving our students the foundation needed to continue in high school. My goal is to encourage students to think with a growth mindset to achieve a level of physical fitness and knowledge of fitness concepts with strategies to maintain a healthy active lifestyle.
Christyn Saracino - Science
I began my academic career at Stony Brook University in Long Island, before transferring to State University College Oneonta, New York, where I earned my BS in Business Economics, minored in Communications, and studied with an emphasis in Nutrition.
After moving to California I became the California Regional Training Manager for Starbucks Coffee, where I wrote and implemented the national management training curriculum, opening over 200 stores in four years.
As a room parent I was inspired to become a substitute teacher. After substituting for over 10 years at Burbank Unified School District, I decided to become a certificated teacher. I obtained my Masters of Secondary Education from University of Phoenix and moved to APEX Academy and then Citizens of the World Charter Schools, where I taught Next Generation Science Standards to middle school.
I’m very happy to be with LAUSD and a founding member of Katherine Johnson STEM Academy, and am looking forward to an exciting and dynamic year.
Shalanie Goueth - Counselor / College & Career Coach
I’m so excited to begin my 7th year as a school counselor, and my 2nd year here at Johnson STEM Academy. I have been a counselor at the elementary, middle school, high school, and college levels, but my passion is to work with middle school students. As the school counselor, I will be focusing on providing academic, college/career, and personal/social counseling to each one of our students here, both individually and in small groups. I’m very much looking forward to continuing to work with all of our returning families and staff, and meeting all of our new families and staff joining us this year.
