Greetings! I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you, and share how excited I am to be entering this role of Principal here at the New Middle School Pathway (NMSP). Prior to arriving at this school, I served for 13 years at the middle school level, initially as a mathematics teacher, followed by English Learner and Title 1 Coordinator. Most recently, I have served as the Assistant Principal of Cochran Middle School, during which we achieved great levels of success for our students, including consistent growth on our students’ ELA and Math outcomes, the successful implementation of a 1:1 Chromebook program, and new partnerships with organizations such as UCLA, Cedars Sinai, and the L.A. Kings. As NMSP Principal, I look forward to partnering with members of LMU as well as members of the community, so that together, we can ensure that all students attending NMSP are on the trajectory to excel in STEM fields of study, are empowered to face the challenges of the 21st Century, and are engaged as future leaders in their world.
With the opening of any new school comes natural enthusiasm. Yet, the reality of opening NMSP as a STEM demonstration partnership school with LMU is especially exciting. I am fully confident that not only will this partnership bring previously unafforded opportunities for our students and teachers to engage in the most effective research-based STEM educational experiences and practices, but that the deep-seated care and commitment of our LMU partners will be readily and instantly felt by every person who walks onto our campus.
Additionally, I look forward to partnering with all members of our community moving forward. I have seen and experienced the passion and enthusiasm that parents, families, and community members have demonstrated in the process of launching NMSP. Together, we will build upon the solid educational foundation that has already been laid through our partner elementary schools. Together, we will leverage the strengths and talents of our students to propel them forward as empowered learners for the 21st Century.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know each of you in the coming weeks. I would like to invite each of you to attend an introductory Meet & Greet on Tuesday, April 18th at 6pm at the Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnet. Additionally, future opportunities to engage with NMSP will be made available. As always, please monitor the website newmiddleschoolpathway.org for the most recent updates.
I look forward to meeting each one of you.
